We follow the classical education model using a mix of The Latin-Centered Curriculum (LCC) and The Well-Trained Mind (WTM).

Adam is in first grade this year. Here's what we do daily:
Memory Work: Living Memory

Latin: Lively Latin 1
Language Arts:
Grammar: Growing with Grammar 2 and 3
Spelling: Spelling Power
Penmanship: Italic Handwriting Series Books C and D
Composition: Classical Writing Aesop A
Piano: My First Piano Adventure level B

And weekly:
Literature: This changes, but right now we're reading fairy tales.
History: A Child's History of the World (the 2nd half; we used this in kinder too)
Science: Building Foundations of Scientific Understanding: A Science Curriculum for K-2
Art: Artistic Pursuits Grades K-3 Book 1 An Introduction to Visual Arts
Classical Studies: This changes as well, but we're starting with A Wonder Book: Heroes and Monsters of Greek Mythology
Geography: Also changing; right now we are reading Paddle-to-the-Sea
Religious Studies: Baha'i Core Curriculum materials.

Why a blog?

I'm starting this as a record of what we're doing in our homeschool, and what I'm doing in my own self-(re)education.

Adam chose the name...I asked him what we should name our school, and his response was Science, History, and Other Fun Stuff...so there 'ya go!
